Today I want to address a topic that comes up now and then when we are cleaning and repairing water features in the South Carolina and Georgia. Can you hire a landscaper to build a water feature? The short answer is yes. But let’s look into this a little deeper, because there is more to it.
So as we start to look into this deeper, I want to start by saying that there are many talented landscapers that are more than capable of building beautiful water features. In fact a good portion of pond builders are former landscapers that found a passion for water. But this is where we will start to look into the differences between the two.
Do They Know the System
First thing to look at when hiring someone to build a water feature is you want to make sure you are hiring someone who knows what they are installing inside and out. A landscaper will know how to install grass, how much water it will need and how short to cut it in order for that lawn to look it’s best all the time. You will want the same thing in the person that installs your water feature.
Are they an Expert
Do they know how how to install a proper ecosystem so that you have a low maintenance system? Do they know the proper pump size based on the filtration of the feature? Are they gonna follow the proper building procedures to create a beautiful and functional system; that will work with nature and not against it? These are all questions you will want to ask a landscaper before having them install a water feature in your space. So hire an expert in this field. You wouldn’t hire a Dentist to come and remodel your bathroom. You would hire someone who is and expert at remodeling bathrooms. Take the same approach when looking for someone to build you water feature.
